In this project, i have created a new decision making feature for Gemini, Google AI, that makes the often-daunting task of decision-making easier. Imagine having an insightful twin by your side, helping you weigh options and navigate tricky choices. That’s the essence of the Gemini Decision Engine. This feature is designed to empower you, not replace your judgment. By providing balanced information and different perspectives Gemini aims to become your go-to partner for making informed decisions.

WHY GEMPICK?

First of all, I am a very indecisive person and let’s face it, making decisions can be a real pain. From picking a movie to figuring out a career path, sometimes all those choices leave us feeling stuck. This project is all about avoiding that decision paralysis. I want to help people feel more confident when they have to make a choice. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, I want them to feel excited!

TARGET AUDIENCE

This project is designed for anyone who has ever felt the grip of indecision, regardless of age. Whether you’re a teenager navigating a social dilemma or a seasoned professional facing a career crossroads, it aims to empower you to make informed choices with confidence.

THE OVERTHINKERS

Majority of the respondents are generally indecisive and have difficulty during the decision-making process even if they know the exact implications of their choices. Moreover, they are generally unsure about being guided in their decision, but they do consult with peers and family for piece of advice, this reveals the willingness to have the last word and take responsibility for the decision itself.

WHAT'S NOT WORKING?

There are these apps that basically pick a random option for you, like spinning a wheel. Fun for picking teams at a picnic, sure, but not so helpful when you’re facing a real dilemma. There are also apps where you can post your decision and get advice from other people. But the problem is, you never know who’s giving you the advice.

DECISION PARALYSIS

There are actual problems that are associated with decision making, one of them being procastination. Indecision is a type of chronic procrastination, and it happens when someone has to make an important, often stressful decision, but they feel overwhelmed by the number of choices and end up searching for information and claim they never got around to making the final decision.

ANALYTICAL THINKING

Opportunities lie in using advanced tech to aid analytical decision making. Here’s how we can approach these:

01. Structured Approach: A framework for users to weigh options based on relevant factors, and arrive at well-informed choices.

02. Information and analysis: Balanced and unbiased information to users alongside different options.

03. Engaged Exploration: Move beyond simple voting systems and get user feedback according to their experience.
